Girard-Perregaux, one of Switzerland’s oldest watch manufacturers, was founded in 1791 by Jean-Franois Bautte in Geneva. Known for its exquisite craftsmanship and innovative designs, the brand quickly gained a reputation among European elites. In 1852, Constant Girard married Marie Perregaux, merging their names to form the iconic brand we know today.
The company made significant strides in horology with groundbreaking innovations. In 1889, it won a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition for its Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridgesa design that remains emblematic of Girard-Perregaux’s commitment to precision and aesthetics.
Throughout the 20th century, Girard-Perregaux continued to innovate by developing high-frequency movements and introducing quartz watches in the early 1970s. Today, it remains a symbol of luxury and technical prowess, blending traditional Swiss watchmaking artistry with modern advancements. The brand is revered for its timeless elegance and mechanical mastery.
