Governor Sarah Palin had her news conference to release the official design for Alaska’s Statehood Quarter at the Alaska Mint in early 2008. There were several very good designs to choose from, she had a “children’s vote”, and the winning design was chosen. We have reproduced this design in a 1oz .999 fine silver medallion with 24 karat “gold relief” on the bear and rim of the coin.
