A Rather Nice Retro Camy Chronograph Reference 9104, with Panda Dial, Dated to the 1960s and Housing the Landeron 248 Movement.

Camy Watch Co. SAwas a Swiss watch company founded in1917. Camy Watch S.A. was managed by Raymond Weil who joined it in 1949, for 26 years. Later,Raymond Weilformed his own watch company.

Apart from the Raymond Weil connection, it is also notable that Simone Bedat also joined Camy from about the mid-1940s, and was to work closely with Weil. Once again, Bedat was to become a watch brand/company in its own right,

Camy used ebauches made by other firms, even though theywere usually signed “CAMY.” Mid-range ETA movements appear, as do more upmarket ebauches, and the firm also produced chronograph watches (often with Valjoux 7733/4 movements) and dive models. The Camy models from the Raymond Weil years bear the brand name, “CAMY/GENEVE”.

As for model names, Camy Watch went in for using a plethora of different model labels that occur on the dials. These include the model varieties such as Rallyking, Airport, and SuperAutomatic.

Whats On Offer

This 1960s ‘panda’ chronograph is in nice shape, with a well-preserved silver sunburst dial and two, black chrono registers at 3 and 9 o’clock which punch out from the dial perfectly. The hour plots are furnished with applied baton markers and this is completed with elegant stick hands and central seconds.

The dial is encapsulated under plexiglass and framed by a very retro TV case in brushed steel, a real throwback to the late 1960s for sure! The case is in great shape with only minor signs of light wear, and the sunburst brushing is still very prominent. The crown looks well and is signed Camy as is the caseback.

A really nice sized (37mm) vintage chronograph, fairly rare and in good shape – it would definitely make a nice addition to any collection and is super wearable.
