This silk scarf was inspired by two of Sheilas earlier collections of jewellery: Skyran and Ogham. In Orkney Norn, skyran means to shine or glitter brightly, which Kirsteen has beautifully captured with hints of shimmering texture and pattern throughout the layered design. The scarf also incorporates the word skyran in Ogham text. Pair it with a classic Skyran enamelled necklace or a 9ct yellow gold Ogham piece for the perfect combination, blending the traditional with the contemporary.

About the collaboration

This range of beautiful silk scarves has been developed by Sheila Fleet and Kirsteen Stewart and is inspired by some of Sheilas iconic jewellery collections. The two Orcadian designers had often discussed collaborating, and when the global pandemic forced a period of reflection and reset, the design partnership finally began. Taking inspiration from Sheilas jewellery and some of Kirsteens artwork, the result is a contemporary fusion of ideas and creativity.
